China’s Gionee is testing a new smartphone, the Gionee A1 model, which brings a little bit better hardware than some of most recent releases, a phone that might be officially introduced next week.

As Geekbench is not a very offering in details we only get to find that Gionee A1 will get an octa-core MediaTek processor, it’ll run on Android 7.0 Nougat and that it gets 4 GB of RAM.

Previous rumors said that the new smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, 64GB storage, 13MP/16MP camera combo, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, and a large 4,010mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

The Gionee A1 (along with as a Plus variant of the phone) is expected to be made official at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017).
