Xperia XZ1 spotted at GFXBench – interesting specs for Sony’s upcoming smartphone

- Adrian Ungureanu

Sony is preparing to launch its new smartphones which are expected to be unveiled at IFA Berlin 2017.

Most rumors suggest that Sony will unveil three new smartphones at the Berliner tech expo, the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and Xperia X1. The first of them has just been spotted at GFXBench.

From the listings we find that Xperia XZ1 will sport a 5.1-inch Full HD display, it’ll be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset, with octa-core processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz, Adreno 540 GPU, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

At the camera department we see an 18 MP main camera and a 12 MP selfie snapper. One interesting about the listings regarding the cameras is the “unsupported” parameter which might be an indicator that GFXBench might have found a way to scan/read a possible second sensor. This “unsupported” parameter might mean that XZ1 does not feature dual cameras, but this is just a personal speculation.

One other interesting fact is that XZ1 will run Android 8.0, so the upcoming smartphone will be one of the first models to get the new OS for Google.

As we mentioned earlier Xperia XZ1 is expected to be unveiled in Berlin, on August 31, just a day ahead of the official debut of IFA 2017.
