Xiaomi will most definitely launch a new generation of its Mi flagship series and the Mi 7 is the model to be expected. The latest rumors suggest it’s going to be unveiled earlier than its predecessor.
The latest rumors suggest it is scheduled for Q1 2018, which means sometimes between January and March. The Mi 6 series was unveiled in April this year, because Samsung stole the first supplies of Snapdragon 835 chipsets, because they were the ones producing them for Qualcomm.
For 2018, Samsung lost their contract with Qualcomm which awarded the contract to Taiwan’s TSMC, so Xiaomi is bound to get the Snapdragon 845 chipsets much earlier, thus they will be able to launch the Mi 7 series earlier next year.
But the Samsung factor will still be in the equation as Xiaomi will equip is smartphones with OLED panels made by Samsung Display. The display’s are rumored to have 6 inches in diagonal which means that Mi 7 will be bigger than its predecessors, Mi 5 and Mi 6, wich had 5-inch LCDs.
