Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus officially announced

Xiaomi has introduced, most likely, its last smartphones of 2017, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, two pretty cool budget smartphones, sporting 18:9 screen, with decent hardware options and some pretty attractive prices.

Both of them come with two RAM and storage variants each, and will go for sale in China first, on december 12th, at decent prices: Redmi 5 (2GB RAM+16GB storage) – 799 yuan ($120/€102), Redmi 5 (3GB RAM+32GB storage) – 899 yuan ($135/€115), Redmi 5 Plus (3GB RAM+32GB storage) – 999 yuan ($151/€128), Redmi 5 Plus (4GB RAM+64GB storage) – 1299 yuan ($195/€166).

Since Xiaomi has started is expansion plans in Europe, we expect this new phones to arrive on the Old Continent also. Most certainly India will get this smartphone, too, as the Redmi series are pretty popular in this country. Bellow you have the specs of the two smartphones.
