As rumored and speculated abundantly lately, Xiaomi has launched its first gaming smartphone, which comes with a new brand: Black Shark.

From what we understand on the brand dedicated website, the phone is simply called “Shark” and comes with top end specs, but at the same time it is far from being an expensive smartphone compared to other models with similar specifications.

It sports a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display, with Full HD+ resolution (2160×1080 pixels) in the tall 18:9 screen ratio.

Inside there’s a powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset, with a 2.8GHz octa-core CPU, and Adreno 630 graphics. The best gear available today for the Android smartphones segment.

It will be available in two RAM and internal storage options: 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Very important for gaming enthusiasts is that the smartphone is equipped with an integrated liquid cooling system to maintain performance levels during gaming.

The photo component consists of a dual camera at the back with 12MP and 20MP sensors, while the front camera has a 20MP sensor.

It is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and runs Android Oreo, with a dedicated interface called JOY UI interface, specially created by Xiaomi.

The phone can be equipped with a gamepad, which can be attached to the phone. It connects via Bluetooth and has its own 340mAh battery.

The design is unique, and Black Shark those really look like a gaming device and will be available in two color variants, dubbed by Xiaomi as, Polar Night Black and Sky Gray.

Being offered in two variants of RAM and internal storage, the cheapest version has a recommended price for the Chinese market of 2,999 yuan, that’s about 389 euros. It is the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone available on the market. The 8GB RAM model costs 3,499 yuan, or around 450 euros, probably the cheapest flagship on the market today with Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM.

The gamepad does not come for free though. It sold separately at a price of about 23 euros. However, the first 50,000 buyers will receive it for free.

Usually I don’t make such remarks, but taking into account the specs, design and the prices, the Xiaomi Black Shark is by far the best deal you can find at the moment.

Unfortunately, we do not know whether or when it could be launched outside of China. We will return when we have these details.
