Uber gets a standalone app for Android Wear 2.0

Uber is probably the first big name to embrace Google’s new wearable operating system Android Wear 2.0 unveiled recently after many months of speculations.

Uber has officially announced that they developed a standalone application for the Android Wear 2.0 platform and it features most of its bigger brother’s functionality, letting users request rides, check prices and time estimates, browse bookmarked destinations, see drivers’ locations before and during a ride, and more.

Now, everybody is wondering fi Uber’s biggest competitor Lyft will release an Android Wear 2.0 app as well. Lyft, in comparison with Uber, had an app for the older versions of Android Wear but pulled it out from the Play Store.
