Well, it seems that the Finnish want to start the new year strong and they’ve already teased the Nokia 6 (2018) release on January 5th, which is this Friday.
As you can see in the official teaser which was sent to Chinese press, that there are “three days until the launch”. The “Nokia 6” moniker is prezent there clearly at the bottom of the image, as the message says “Craft an imaginative #new Nokia 6#”.
The phone did got all the required certifications for the Chinese authorities, including from TENAA, which already revealed the specs of the new Nokia 6 (2018). There’s a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080px) display, which means it retains its 16:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood there’s a Snapdragon 630 chipset, though we expected the improved Snapdragon 660 chipset. There’s also 4GB of RAM and two storage options: 32GB and 64GB. There’s also a slot for up to 128GB microSD cards.
Nokia 6 (2018) features a 16MP rear mounted camera, while at the front there an 8MP selfie snapper. The phone was registered at TENAA with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, so we can only hope that it’ll be shipped ready for Android 8.0 Oreo. The new phone will be powered by a 3,000mAh.
There’s not a lot of improvements in comparison with last year’s Nokia 6, but that’s what we get.
The move it’s a bit surprising because many thought that the new Nokia 6 (2018) will be unveiled on January 19th, like its predecessor was. Now, even the rumors about Nokia 9 being launched alongside the new Nokia 6 are wrong.
