The LG Optimus F7 is a smartphone for the US market. We find it interesting in that it seems to level mid-range devices with premium flagships in some crucial aspects, notably LTE internet and performance, while making some very reasonable compromises. The Optimus F7 features a dual-core Snapdragon 1.5GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 8MP/2MP cameras, Android 4.1.2, a 2540mAh battery and yes – LTE internet.
The compromises we speak of are cut corners in the display – it’s a 4.7-inch IPS panel, but with a qHD resolution, and the build – it’s obviously LG‘s most non-challenging and modest plastic design. But these little omissions could make for a powerful, efficient and reasonably priced smartphone – if only LG would reveal the price sooner.
Hopefully, by the time 4G is standard across the EU, we’ll have plenty of such models to choose from. The Optimus F7 seems like the perfect entry-level LTE smartphone.
