Oled-display.net published a rather thorough report on what Samsung and LG have been up to with their display technology. The good news is that Samsung is ready to begin mass-producing 6-inch AMOLED Full HD panels for their next flagship device – the Galaxy Note 3. Unfortunately, it won’t be a flexible panel, as Samsung hasn’t been able to secure sufficient production quantities on time. LG is facing the exact same struggle. Reportedly, Samsung’s FOLED capacity is currently at 24 000 panels monthly, while LG manages only 8000.
The Samsung-made flexible FOLED (flexible organic-emitting light diode) display is named Youm and was first revealed at this year’s CES.Source: Oled Display via SamMobile
