Samsung tops Apple in the US market

The latest market report from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech reveals that at May 31, Samsung has regained the leader spot on the American smartphone market, while Apple was second, even though to y-o-y evolution of the market share shows that Apple improved its market coverage.

Samsung improved a lot in the three months ending May 2017, increasing its market share from 32.9% to 36.2%. Apple was holding 34% of the market thus placing second in the US.

When it comes to most sold models, Apple’s smartphone were still on top. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus secured to first two spots, followed by Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8. Even thoug it was only the forth most sold model, S8 was the one that boosted Samsung’s market share in the US, according to Kantar’s market report.
