As if the mobile world doesn’t have enough 5-inchers to choose from, Samsung revealed their own. Galaxy Grand sports a 5-inch Full HD display, a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB ram, 8GB internal memory with mSD slot, and it looks exactly like the Galaxy S3. The operating system is Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, presumably with Samsung’s TouchWiz on top. What’s puzzling is not only the lack of anything “grand” about these specs, but the omission of LTE internet, which would make the handset incapable of competing with HTC’s Droid DNA in the US, if it ever reaches these shores. However, the smartphone will be sold in a dual-SIM variety as well. The Grand is expected to show up on CES 2013 and consequently sold in the beginning of 2013.
