Samsung returned to first place in the global market


After losing first place at the end of 2014 thanks to Apple, Samsung is back on top as the leading manufacturer of smartphones in the first quarter of 2015. This information came to us, according to research firm Gartner.

Samsung has sold 81.8 million smartphones, compared with 60.1 million devices sold by Apple. However, their market share dropped to 24.2% from 30.4% in the same quarter last year.

On the other hand Apple Xiaomi ahead and become a leading supplier of smart phones in China during this period and their market share increased to 17.9% from 15.3% in the first quarter of 2014.

Levovo, Huawei and LG ranked in the top 5 with a market share of 5.9%, 4.8 and 4.0 percent. In terms of mobile operating system, Android is on top, followed by iOS, Windows and BlackBerry. The positive part about Apple from these results is that with the exception of iOS, the market share of all other OS decreases.
