The rumors about Samsung preparing a foldable smartphone have started circulating again around the internet and new reports from South Korea supports them.

Samsung has trademarked the “Galaxy X” name, which has been used in numerous ocassions by leaksters in news regarding the eventual release of a smartphone with foldable display. The tech giant has filed for trademark over at KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) for the Galaxy X brand, so no one will get to use it for any other products.

This does not actually prove that Samsung is preparing the launch of a foldable smartphone but it comes short after the rumors about this type of smartphone had surfaced again.

Some rumors reports that Samsung will actually start producing the Galaxy X foldable smartphone before the end of this year. They also report that the device should be unveiled by the end of the year or at the beginning of 2018.
