Samsung seems to have landed a big hit in sales with its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 series, as it set a new record of 550,000 pre-orders for the first two days since it began in Korea.
The number of pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus was much higher than its predecessor Galaxy S7, which sold 100,000 units, and Galaxy Note 7, which sold 200,000 units, during the same period last year.
This new record was higher even than Samsung‘s own expectations, who anticipated 400.000 pre-orders during the entire pre-order campaign. They’ve reached and passed that objective in less than 2 days.
Most local analysts predicts now the annual sales of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would be around 45 million to 50 million units. Samsung’s own estimates are around 60 million units this year alone and even though the analysts are reserved, judging by the current response of the market, the Samsung might reach their goal this year.
