Paralyzed persons can type messages thanks to some neural implants [video]

With an experiment that combines a high-speed neural implant system called BrainGate2, and a text entry software, a group of researchers made possible for a paralyzed person to type six words per minute.

For those who rely only on mental activity to write a message, this experiment can facilitate the communication with the external world. At the same time, the researchers plan to put some implants into the brain in order to speed up the typing process.
