OnePlus 6 is official! A new ”flagship killer” is born – Top specs, mid-range prices

- Adrian Ungureanu

OnePlus may have just launch another real “flagship killer” this year too, a smartphone that will give plenty of headaches from Samsung, Apple, Huawei and many, many others.

The new OnePlus 6 comes with top specifications, a design, that although I don’t like very much, it those follow the current trends, including the notched screen as the iPhone X, dual camera, fingerprint sensor and everything else someone wanting on flagship with at a decent price may ask.

OnePlus 6 has a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD+ resolution (2280×1080) with 19:9 aspect ratio, and the already not surprising anymore notch. It’s protected by a Gorilla Glass 5 shield.

Under the hood we find a Snapdragon 845 chipset with octa-core CPU, clocked at 2,8GHz and Adreno 630 GPU, the best option Android smartphone at this moment. OnePlus 6 offers two RAM, 6GB and 8GB options, and three internal storage options, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. It does not have a microSD card slot.

The main camera has two sensors 16MP+20MP, features a LED flash, offering multiple operating modes: Portrait, Pro Mode, Panorama, HDR, HQ, Dynamic Deno, Clear Image, and RAW.

The selfie snapper has a 16MP sensor and comes with Portrait, HDR, Screen Flash, Smile Capture, Face Beauty modes.

The phone is powered by a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging (5V 4A), with a fingerprint sensor located on the back under the dual camera. OnePlus has not yet removed the 3.5mm audio jack, so you do not have to buy any wireless headsets or adapters, for you favorite headphones.

The company also announces that the phone is splashproof, so it should not be bothered by a few drops of rain, but as they say “don’t take it for a swim”.

OnePlus will be available from May 22, in three color variants, called Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Silk White. Prices start at $529 for the 6GB and 64GB internal storage, up to $629 for the most expensive version, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. I do not think there are phones as well equipped, cheaper on the market right now.
