Nokia announced the release of its latest application – Nokia Braille Reader, which is still beta version but already available for download (get it here).
The name already says this is an application for smartphones, which will allow blind and visually impaired users to read their received SMS messages. Nokia reports, that the program works just fine on phones with touch-sensitive displays and it uses tactile feedback.
The new app was developed together with the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired and the Tampere University, so it’s not just another stupid app, but a really useful software for visually disabled people.
Nokia Braille Reader is compatible with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5530, Nokia 5230 and the upcoming Nokia X6.
