Nokia 9 with Android Oreo pops up at GFXBench

It’s time to divert our attention from Apple and their new iPhones for a moment because there are still happening in the world besides the events in Cupertino.

The new iPhones were officially unveiled, we seen how costly they will be outside the US, but in the meantime we find that HMD Global is still preparing the Nokia 9 for its debut.

The phone appeared again at GFXBench, but with Android 8.0 Oreo on board. As you will see in the picture bellow, the phone sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560x1440px) display, which means it won’t have an 18:9 screen ratio, so most likely it won’t be a full screen display and it might not even be bezel-less.

But let’s move on. The Nokia 9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset, as we find and ARMv8 Qualcomm 2.4GHz octa-core processor in the list. There’s also an Adreno 540 GPU, so there’s no doubt we’re looking at a Snapdragon 836 chipset.

Nokia 9 offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The listings reveal a 12MP rear camera, but there’s a fat chance that there’s going to be another sensor at the back. Most certainly the Carl Zeiss lenses will be there too. At the front will find a 12MP selfie snapper.

Hopefully Nokia 9 will be at least as impressive as Nokia 8, because Nokia and HMD Global need more smartphones if they want to reclaim the sit at the table among the biggest smartphone makers as they said they would.
