Nokia and HMD Global promised a few surprises for MWC 2017, but up until now, we haven’t had any information about what could be the first real flagship since Nokia’s return to smartphone market.
Now, thanks to the Chinese retailer, JD.com, we get to find something about Nokia 8. Since it comes with a higher number in the series (we know about Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6) and with a bigger price tag, it should get better hardware. JD listing reveals that the date of launch is still to be determined, but the price tag is at 3.188 Yuan, which means around $465 (€440).
As about the phone, they say it looks very similar to Nokia fans render about the Nokia P1 model, that was rumored since the end of 2016. Specs-wise Nokia 8 is supposed to Snapdragon 821 or even the Snapdragon 835 chipset, a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, 6 GB RAM and at least 64 GB internal storage. The smartphone will get a 24 MP main camera and also a 12MP sensor up front for selfie snapshots.
Still, there is no confirmation about Nokia 8 coming in Barcelona, but we are to find out Sunday, 26 February, in a press conference scheduled by HMD Global, just one day before the official start of MWC 2017.
