HMD Global seems to be ready to unveil Nokia 2 as the entry-level phone was spotted on AnTuTu. And history says to us that most of the smartphones spotted on the Chinese benchmark were unveiled soon after.
And that might be the case here also, because HMD Global confirmed an event that will take place in India, on October 31, which is tomorrow, so Nokia 2 might be unveil with this occasion.
As of the results, there’s not surprises. That because the specs for the cheapest Nokia smartphone of the year were leaked precisely a long time ago. It’ll be powered by a Snapdragon 212 chipset, a very modest one, which has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. This is coupled with and Adreno 304 GPU, which you rarely hear about. The phone has only 1GB of RAM and just 8GB internal storage. The usable memory might drop to 5GB+ because even the stock Android 7.1 Nougat weights enough to leave you out a big portion of available space on you phone. Hopefully Nokia 2 will have microSD slot, because, otherwise you have to constantly delete stuff from you phone, or move you photo’s and video on a PC or something.
Talking about photos, if we said in the reviews for Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, that we weren’t impressed by the camera department, Nokia 2 seems even less impressive. There’s an 8MP camera at the back and a 5MP selfie snapper.
There’s no confirmation about the prices, except the fact that Best Buy “accidentally” listed to phone in the US for $99, and there absolutely no reason to believe that Nokia 2 is going be more expensive than that.
