We’re still waiting and expecting HMD Global to bring new Nokia-branded smartphones in the following months and it seems that after Nokia 3, 5 and 6, which were already introduced, Nokia 2, 7, 8 and 9 are the following numbers of HMD’s list.
A new source from China leaked the phones’ names and their chipsets. Nokia 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 212 chipset, Nokia 7 by Snpadragon 630, Nokia 8 by Snapdragon 660 and the flagship Nokia 9, will be powered by Qualcomm’s current top of the line, Snapdragon 835.
About Nokia 7, 8 and 9 we’ve heard rumors before, but Nokia 2 is more like a new-entry. Although it may be not, since is said that Nokia 2 was supposed to be Nokia 4, a model that appeared in some rumors, but because the number “4” is a bad omen in several countries, the Finnish company decided to go for “2” instead.
There aren’t any official confirmation in regard to these new rumors, but they fall in line with those from December, when it was suggested that HMD Global will launch at least 7 Nokia-branded smartphones in 2017. Add the numbers: 2+3+5+6+7+8+9=7
