An update for the iOS version of Skype has emerged, bringing it to version 4.2. Microsoft account support on iOS is now a reality and it allows you to communicate with your Messenger, Hotmail and Outlook contacts directly from your Apple device. And if you don’t have an account, you can now create one from the application itself.
Microsoft-owned Skype have also made some software tweaks, for example you can now edit your instant messages with a tap-and-hold mechanic, and owners of Retina-branded devices have an emoticon selector with animated smileys at their disposal. What comes across as a pretty nifty feature is saving phone numbers to Skype contacts directly from the dial pad.
