Neo N003 is the cheapest quad-core smartphone ever… for now

Four cores. Full HD screen. 1 GB RAM. 8 GB ROM. 145 dollars. This is the Neo N003 Youth. A chinese flagship that undercuts the price of everybody else’s smartphones all the way down to the bone. The Youth version will retail at said $145, but for $100 more you can buy the Premium version which has an additional gig of RAM, 32GB storage and a 3MP frontal camera (the Youth has a 0.3 frontal snapper).

More about the specs: both versions will share a 5-inch Full HD display, quad-core MediaTek CPU at 1.2GHz, 13MP Sony rear camera, Yamaha speakers, 3000mAh battery (w00t!) and Android 4.2.

Of course, this darling will only sell in China. It’s high time these chinese smartphones, even if they compromise on their build quality and user experience, make their way to the rest of the world. It simply isn’t fair.
