Microsoft is persuading politicians to start using Xbox Live service to advertise their campaigns, as Washington Post reports, so your Xbox Live dashboard may soon be invaded by political ads. Doesn’t matter if you pay for this service, publicity is everywhere.
After an election hub for the Xbox 360 that Microsoft released in 2012, with live coverage and news, this time Microsoft is using both public information and data selected from your Xbox Live account, to deliver ads for specific demographic sections.
These ads will feature on the Xbox Live dashboard and across other Microsoft products, including Skype. This move is not that fresh, don’t forget about the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns of President Obama who used his image and his campaign motto in popular games like Madden and Tetris.
