After buying Mojang and Minecraft in 2014, for $2.5 billion, Microsoft is working now on a new version of the Minecraft game, called Education Edition, a version similar to the old MinecraftEdu, that helps teachers and students to teach and to learn computer science, art or geography.
Minecraft: Education Edition will be available for testing staring this summer, before officially getting to institutions or individual users. What brings new this version are improved maps, coordination systems, digital portfolios and new working tools suitable for students and teachers at the same time.
The teachers that already use MinecraftEdu can still do this, but Microsoft offers 12 month of free access to Minecraft: Education Edition. Check out the video below.
