The third CEO in Microsoft’s history is officially in charge. Satya Nadella takes over as CEO, allowing the former CEO, Steve Ballmer, to retire early. This announcement places Nadela in charge of the closure of Microsoft’s Nokia deal and the company’s reorganization process.
Nadella was born in India in 1967 and have joined Microsoft team over 20 years ago. He originally worked at Microsoft rival Sun Microsystems before heading to Redmond to work on research for Microsoft’s online services division. Nadella studied Electrical Engineering before moving to the US to study computer science.
Satya Nadella has a strong background on computing and engineering, so he is clearly well positioned to help steer the company in developing and building services and applications to be used by millions of users.
