Microsoft invested $15 million in Foursquare


Microsoft decided to invest $15 million on Foursquare, as part of a strategic partnership between the two companies, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. This partnership will help Foursquare sustain its business and Microsoft will get access to a large location-based data.


Microsoft will use Foursquare’s data in mobile services and Bing search results, as well as integrating this data directly into Windows and Windows Phone, so it can keep up with its competitors, Google and Apple. These $15 million investition represents Foursquare’s single biggest source of funding.
