Meizu Pro 7 is one of the most intriguing Chinese smartphones of this summer as this model is expected to sport a secondary display at the back of the phone.
There we’re some speculations regarding it unveiling, but now the Meizu Pro 7 is confirmed to debut on July 26 through a launch event that will be held at the headquarters of the company in Zhuhai, China. The event will begin at 7:30 PM local time.
The previous rumors suggested that a Plus variant would pe introduced as well. Specs-wise in seems that the two models will share most of the specs. From the latest rumors we understand that Pro 7 might sport a 5.2-inch display, while the Plus variant might have a 5.5-inch display, but it might be larger.
other leaks tips the Pro 7 series as coming with a MeidaTek Helio X30 chip and a dual Sony IMX386 + IMX286 dual cameras among others.
Also, there are rumors that they might be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chipset. Other specs include a 16MP front camera, 3.5mm audio jack as well as a USB Type-C port.
The new series is expected to sport display at the back, under the dual cameras of the phones and would show notifications as well as display time, date etc. Initially it was believed that the secondary display will be an e-Ink one, but most recent leaks indicate that is colored and it will have touch input.
Price-wise, from previous leaks we find that Pro 7 will have retail price of 2799 Yuan (~$409) for the base model while the higher version will carry a price tag of 3299 Yuan (around $484). On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus will start at 3299 yuan (~$484) while the higher version will sell for 3799 yuan (~$555). These prices are quite high for a Chinese manufacturer.
