Fans of LG’s smartphones should circle the date 7 August on their calendar. The company has sent press invites for “an international event” situated in the semi-formal capital of planet Earth, New York city. It’s easy to conclude that the main attraction will be the next biggest thing in the making, and that might just be the Optimus G2. The successor to the wonderful Optimus G (or Nexus 4 in a tuxedo, as we affectionately call it) is set to debut in the third quarter of the year, featuring a Snapdragon 800 CPU.
LG can’t and shouldn’t wait any longer than this on their announcement, as the autumn season will be saturated with flagship models. We are pretty excited for the G2, based on the leaked pictures we’ve seen so far.
