LG has shown off a brand new ultrabook named U560. The U560 works with Windows 8 and has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display and… gasp, an optical drive. You don’t usually see these on ultrabooks. The CPU and GPU are Intel’s Core i5 Ivy Bridge and an unknown NVIDIA GeForce discrete card. The computer weights 1.9kg at 2cm thickness and looks like its made of alluminium. Storage is supplied by a combination of HDD and SSD volumes, and the keyboard has a numeric pad for your business and math needs.
With so many moving parts packed in, the U560 isn’t exactly an ultrabook, but we’ll take it as it is – a slim conventional laptop. The PC will debut in South Korea with the rest of the world probably to follow.
