Even though LG fans are more interested about what’s going to happen on August 31, when LG will unveil its next flagship, the LG V30, a day ahead of IFA Berlin 2017, they might wanna hear about this too.
About two weeks ago, LG introduced the new “Q” series, comprised of three new smartphones LG G6, LG Q6α and LG Q6+. Now, LG expands the series, after it “discreetly” launched Q8 in Italy, a smartphone that is basically a smaller LG V20.
LG Q8 is almost identical with V20, it even has a secondary screen right above the main display, but it’s smaller. LG V20 had a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, while Q8 has a 5.2-inch Quad HD display.
The other specs are almost identical. Snapdragon 820 chipset, with quad-core processor, clocked at 2.15 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage and up to 2TB microSD slot.
Like V20, Q8 has a dual camera at the back, with a 13+8MP combo (but V20 had a 16+8MP combo), while at the front we find the same 5MP selfie snapper.
The new smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, it’s fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery and is IP67 certified, which means is water resistant, a featured that V20 lacked.
Unfortunately there’s no info about availability or prices. We don’t see any reason why this new smartphone would only be available in Italy, so we expected to see it go for sale in other parts of the world as well. We’ll get back with more info as they will be available.
