According to various Asian media, the new LG G2 is set to become the next (fifth) Nexus smartphone by Google. The reveal will happen in October, and the price will be nearly identical to that of the Nexus 4. The parameters aren’t quite the same, however. The Nexus 5 will allegedly have a less powerful Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB RAM and a 10-megapixel camera instead of the S800/13MP camera configuration of the G2. Furthermore, the device’s buttons may or may not be pushed to its back panel. We think LG might not be entirely cool with another smartphone doing this “schtick” three months after the G2 debuted.
For now, we recommend a large pinch of salt with any new Nexus 5 rumors. Last we heard, Motorola is set to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone. But both the LG G2 and the Moto X would make ideal candidates for the Nexus 5’s base shape and form.Source: Android Authority
