Samsung launched alongside its flagships in the spring, Galaxy S8 and S8+, the DeX, a docking station which can be connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard offering the smartphone users the possibility to use their mobile device as a PC.
Huawei seems to see some potential in this area so it prepares a similar device for it Mate 10 series, which will be unveiled this month.
MirAxess CEO Yanis Anteur said in a published report that the Huawei Mate 10 will offer PC style functionality. The news came out as Anteur said their Mirabook, a notebook shaped device which can be used as a docking station for a smartphone, is compatible with Samsung’s flaghips.
“For now on we recommend to use the Mirabook with the Galaxy S8 for DeX and Windows Phones for Continuum. I also have a secret news for you (sic), the new Huawei smartphones announced on 16 October will have a DeX like feature and should be compatible with the Mirabook“, said Yanis Anteur, CEO MirAxess.
There’s no information about how it’s going to be dubbed this new Huawei gadget, but will find out for sure in about two weeks from now on.
