Huawei will unveil its new Mate 10 series next month, which will consist in three pretty different models: Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Lite.
In fact, the last one was already unveiled last week in China, but it’s dubbed Huawei Maimang 6 in the country. The other two models will be unveiled on October 16, in Germany, and the Mate 10 Pro popped in a new leaked image, which looks good, but there’s a really big problem we see in it. There is no visible fingerprint reader at the back.
As you can see in the picture above, there’s no such sensor at the back. At the front there’s no physical Home button which could’ve housed in the fingerprint reader. Of course there’s no rule for smartphones to feature fingerprint readers. iPhone X is the best example, but Apple has an very good alternative, FaceID, a quite revolutionary authentication method.
Of course, there are other methods to authenticate, like Face recognition of iris scanner, but current technologies on smartphones proved that they are not reliable, like Samsung’s alternative’s which can be fooled using a picture of the user. There’s always a possibility that Mate 10 Pro could have in-display fingerprint sensor, but it’s very unlikely, because we would’ve known something by now that.
Anyway, maybe this pic is a just a fake, and we’re thinking to much.
