The revamped version of the legendary Nokia 3310 was born as a PR stunt, to appeal to Nokia’s fans and loyalists, but it was not intended to become a sales hit. And that’s something that Nokia and HMD officials admitted. Yet, it has become a consumer product, that sells better than expected.
“Our reimagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G”, said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global.
So, you’ll have the opportunity to buy the Nokia 3310 with 3G support, for $69, starting with mid-October in your country. At least, that’s what HMD claims, in it’s official press release.
