Today, sci-fi comedy writer and lifelong Apple fan Douglas Adams would have been 61 years old. He would have opened google.com on his 27-inch iMac or iPad 4 and enjoyed the doodle made for him by those adorable Google engineers. Fans of the five-book trilogy chronicling Arthur Dent’s adventures around the universe will nodoubtedly recognise Ford Prefect’s towel, Arthur’s tea cup, Marvin the paranoid android and the Hitchhiker’s Guide itself, looking like a Kindle Keyboard.
Douglas Adams passed on 11 may 2001 at 49 years old due to a heart attack. His last publication is “The Salmon Of Doubt” – a compilation of his unreleased stories, essays and letters.
