Google Maps for iOS gets an update

Google Maps for iOS released an update that will display on your iOS device a pop-up alert when it identifies a faster route on your way to… anywhere.

This way, while traveling to work or to school or to the market, if a faster route becomes available to you, Google Maps will ask you it you want to follow this new route. So if you are in a hurry and being late is not a solution, the update takes into consideration traffic updates and road conditions in order to get you as fast as possible to the location, without having to apologize for being late.

This update for iOS rolled out after it became available for Android devices and it seems as a strategy to make iOS users become dependent on Google’s free services and apps.
