Feedly welcomes 500K Reader refugees

One man’s demise is striking gold for another. The saying didn’t go that way, but we’re innovative. After Google announced Reader won’t be around after July, over 500 000 users have jumped ship to competing rss aggregator Feedly. While that seems like a drop in the vast internet ocean, it is a marked success and an opportunity for the service to jump-start its expansion. The company behind it has announced plans to keep Feedly in action, add new tools and options and even raise a virtual mic in front of users to let them voice their suggestions and demands. Feedly will also replicate Reader’s API, lighting alongside Digg.com an eternal flame of sorts underneath it.
