SamMobile published the first benchmark results of Samsung‘s octa-core CPU Exynos 5 Octa, currently found only in select Galaxy S4 units. The CPU which dynamically alternates between two sets of four Cortex A15 and four Cortex A7 cores has proven to be the fastest chip currently available for smartphones. It beats the Snapdragon 600, Snapdragon S4 and the previous gen Exynos in the Galaxy S3 by considerable lenghts. The only CPU that scores near Samsung’s beast is the Intel Atom Clover Trail in Lenovo K900.
In resume, the current chip ranking in AnTuTu looks as follows (results taken from GSMArena):
Galaxy S4 Exynos 5 Octa: 27 417 p.
Lenovo K900 Intel Atom Clover Trail+: 25 164 p.
Galaxy S4 Snapdragon 600: 23 607 p.
HTC One: 22 678 p.
Sony Xperia Z: 20 794 p.
Galaxy S3: 15 547 p.
