Young Romanian students have once again proven their passion and desire to attain excellence in terms of academic results and social involvement, on the occasion of the fourth edition of COSMOTE Scholarship program. COSMOTE Romania therefore announces the new 5 scholarship awardees of its 2010 launched corporate responsibility program.
This year’s selected students will receive an 800 RON/month scholarship, for nine months/year for the entire duration of their academic studies. So far, COSMOTE Romania supported three generations of scholars and granted, in the first three years of the project, monthly scholarships of a total amount of approx. 40,000 euro, the allocation of the financial resources being continued until the end of their studies.
The students granted with a COSMOTE Scholarship in the fourth edition are: LUISA BALABAN from Giurgiu (National University of Arts, Bucharest), IONELA-MĂDĂLINA GROSU from Suceava (University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iaşi), THEODORA-MARIA MANEA from Ploieşti (University of Bucharest, Faculty of Law) and CĂTĂLINA-DAIANA TOMESCU from Craiova (Polytechnics University Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology), CRISTOPHER-TEODOR UGLEA from Oneşti (University of Bucharest, Faculty of History).
“This edition, we met a new generation of talented and passionate freshmen that are eager to achieve the best results in their chosen career, while keeping an eye on their future contribution to the Romanian society. COSMOTE Romania is honoured to contribute in supporting so many exceptional students, with diverse and interesting domains of interest. With this fourth edition, the COSMOTE Scholarships program is thus reaching a number of 20 granted scholarships and reunites all alumni into a platform of exchange and collaboration. In 2013, 392 young students applied for the program, between September 16th and October 15th and 205 submission files were validated and taken into consideration for the selection of the 25 finalists. The jury of the fourth edition evaluated the 25 finalists during 2 days of interviews, followed by the selection of the 5 winners. The 2013 jury was composed by: Cristina Bazavan, journalist/blogger with a media experience exceeding 15 years; Mihaela Perianu, founder and managing partner at Aims Human Capital, and also at Dale Carnegie Training; Mihai Popa-Radu, Managing Partner of the consultancy practice Seeds for Success; Sorin Psatta, Integrated Communication Director at Graffiti BBDO Romania and Lecturer at the Journalism and Communication Faculty for the University from Bucharest and Catalina Tarabuta, Acting Head of Technology, Customer Care and Operational Office at COSMOTE Romania.
COSMOTE Scholarships program was addressed to high school graduates from 2012 or 2013, who have been admitted in a Romanian accredited state-run higher education institution, during the admission session of 2013.
