Asus will also be attending mobile tech expo in Barcelona at the end of this month, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, and the launch of new generations of ZenFone 5 phones is expected.
We should see at least three models: ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Lite and ZenFone 5 Max. Recently, ZenFone 5 sketches have emerged on the web and they are said to be from the phone’s users manual.
From these sketches we can see that ZenFone 5 will also borrow from the features of the Apple flagship. Last week, we’ve seen some images of Sharp’s Aquos S3 that also resemble the iPhone X.
Like the Sharp smartphone, the new Asus handset will have a notch ar the to of the screen like the iPhone X. Obviously, the ZenFone 5, will not hide any advanced 3D recognition system like the one from Apple, but the notch is done to keep the selfie camera and the earpiece in place.
According to the sketches the Asus ZenFone 5 will come with a vertical dual-camera, at top left corner as well the iPhone X. Because it does not come with a FaceID-like system, ZenFone 5 has a fingerprint sensor on the back.
There are many small Chinese manufacturer that copy Apple’s phone so they can capitalize on its popularity, but now this trend is becoming obvious amongst larger brands as well.
Since their from an official source, we can not guarantee 100% that these sketches are really of Asus’ upcoming smartphone, so do take it with a pinch of salt.
