Apple tried for more than a year to reach an agreement with the Indian government so they could start production in India and so they could open stores in the country and sell their products directly.

The two side reached and agreement at the beginning of this year and in March speculations said that production is set to start in May. Well the happened as the first trial run of a batch of iPhone SE units that has been completed, today.

Because of the local legislation, Apple needed to start production locally so it could sell directly it products in the second largest smartphone market in the world.

It seems that the iPhone that will be made in India, will be sold only in India.
