Taiwanese media Economic Daily announced that Apple is testing 1.5-inch OLED displays for their upcoming smart-watch device. Before that a 1.8-inch panel was tested and deemed too big. The display manufacturer is taiwanese company RiTdisplay. It turns out Apple’s smart watch might be their first device with an OLED display.
Another media, The Daily News, announced that Foxconn has already been ordered to manufacture up to 1000 test units of the Apple “iWatch”. If all goes well, Apple’s hardware partner will quickly scale to mass-production for a likely September announcement. Wonder if Samsung will let Apple come through first this time?Source: Electronista
