Samsung unveiled a new smartphone today. It’s called the Galaxy S2+. It has the exact same hardware specs of the original best-selling S2, including the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED+ display, dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, 8MP rear camera and 1GB of RAM, but it omits 8GB worth of storage space.
However, the S2+ comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and some of the software bells & whistles that Samsung has been pleasing its loyal fanbase with – Popup Video, Voice Unlock, Smart Stay and others. The original Galaxy S2 will receive an update to 4.1.2 too, which both makes the S2+ seem quite irrelevant and shows that Samsung are not ones to fool their customers.
There’s no word on the release date or market availability.
