Google had a thing with naming their Android versions after some delicious foods. Gingerbread, Marshmallow, Nougat are just some examples of Google choices for their mobile OS.
Even though Nougat still has a very small market share, the next Android version, that is to be released this year, is on its way. Google might unveil it first, at their own annual event, Google I/O and there it should be confirmed its name.
Until there, rumors have been talking about naming it Oreo this year. And after many rumors, a Google official teases the audience with information in the same direction.
Hiroshi Lockheimer, SVP of Android, Chrome OS and Play, has tweeted a GIF of an Oreo cake, which kinda confirms previous rumors.
