This week should be an interesting one as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 will debut tomorrow, January 9th, in Las Vegas. It’ll stretch until the end of the week and in January 12th it’ll close its doors for another year.
There are plenty of new smartphone expected to be unveiled here. Among the companies that announced that they’ll be present and hold an announcement event is TCL Communication, the company that makes the BlackBerry and Alcatel smartphone.
Coincidence or not, famous tipsters Evan Blass (@evleaks) just posted on Twitter a new render of Alcatel 5, and claims is its final design. The render looks nice and we spot some interesting things.
This the no-bezels on three sides around the 18:9 aspect ratio screen. To accomplish that, TCL’s designer ditched the Home button, thus, as you can see the fingerprint reader is set ar the back, under the camera.
At the front, on the “forehead” there are plenty of visible sensors to believe that there’s a dual selfie camera in there.
The one thing that makes me doubt that Alcatel will be unveiled this week, is that if this is an official render, then the date on the screen, Monday, February 26th, is the exact one when Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 will debut.
