Chinese manufacturer Seiki is preparing to launch a 39-inch Ultra-HD TV at a price of $700. The first 4K TV’s launched at several tens of thousands of dollars which makes this TV’s price simply ridiculous. The only catch is that this budget-friendly TV isn’t future-proofed. It supports HDMI 1.4 which can output 4K resolution content at only 30Hz. HDMI 2.0 will solve this problem, but you’ll be stuck with 1.4. However, it shouldn’t take Seiki too long to catch up and we’re sure they’ll keep the same crazy competitive price.
Pre-orders in the US start at 27 June. Seiku has already announced a 50-inch model, and a 65-incher will be announced this autumn.Source: Electronista
